In its unique position as an umbrella, enabling organization spanning all six Berkshire unitary authorities, CCB is able play a role in raising the voice of the voluntary sector and rural community at a number of levels.
Since the re-organization of local government in Berkshire, we have developed good relationships with the six unitary authorities, as well as with parish and town councils. We are therefore well placed to feed into the strategic planning processes at both a local and regional level.
CCB has forged partnerships with numerous bodies and undertakes specific project based work on their behalf.
CCB is frequently the first port of call for voluntary organizations and the voluntary sector when seeking a specific help or advice. As a result we have a unique fund of experience and knowledge which is an asset to the statutory sector when dealing with a range of subjects including rural disadvantage, transport, training and funding the community life.
CCB took a lead in the consortium of local voluntary groups and Wokingham District Council in the creation of a new Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) in Wokingham. As a result Wokingham was successful in its bid to the National Lottery and received £180,000 to set up a CVS in the districtcomments powered by Disqus
